Smiles spread into chuckles, and from then on it became one hilarious incident after another as she related the development of her career, her marriage, her moves to various vicarages round Yorkshire elsewhere and eventually to Wales. As a supportive vicar’s wife and mother of three her life was very full. In her words hers was "A ministry of interruptions" The applause reflected the enjoyment. U3A April Meeting

Numbers were a little depleted for the April meeting, no doubt due to the glorious sunshine. Those that were there, however, were treated to a showing of an early Bollywood classic, Langaan.

All the essential elements were there; conflict with the British Raj, injustice, ill fated and true love, heroism, suspense, dance, music, and most of all. Cricket. Who would have believed that a game of cricket could have provided so much suspense and heroism? Despite the film lasting three hours, no one left before the end, and perhaps fortified by a few cups of tea, no one fell asleep. Perhaps a few U3A members will now be switching on the Asian channels on their televisions, to seek out a few more classics.

Next month's meeting will also be starting at the earlier time of 1.30pm, in Parlwr Mawr at the Dragon Theatre on Wednesday 12th May as it will be the AGM, followed by a presentation by Trevor Owen on Traditional Clog Making.
