Barmouth News - 20th March, 2010

Where future events and specific information are mentioned, these are highlighted for easy reference.

Educating Rita

The very accomplished Paradisi Theatre Company from Criccieth, who last year produced a brilliant version of “Barefoot in the park” came back to Barmouth’s Dragon Theatre on 19th and 20th March with their new production of Educating Rita. Although an amateur group the standard of their productions rival those of professional companies. The tightness of Willy Russell's writing was brought into sharp focus by the clever design of paring the cast down to two characters. The audience were in awe of the performers ability to retain such a vast amount of dialogue without any noticeable hesitation. As with all great writing it still seems fresh and relevant today with characters with whom everyone could identify. Another substantial success for this excellent company.

RNLI Flag Day

Once again the Flag Day approaches and as always the success of this day relies on the generous help of volunteers. If you can spare an hour or two during the day on August 5th William Burton would be very glad to hear from you now, so that he can organise the event, on 01341 280704
